This code identifies the failed diagnostic test or circuit family. Confirm the basic checks before replacing parts, and keep freeze-frame data until the repair is verified.

Common Checks

  • Inspect the air filter box, inlet tube, and clamps for unmetered air after the MAF.
  • Check the MAF connector, wiring, and sensor element for contamination.
  • Look for vacuum leaks before chasing fuel trims.

Common Repairs

  • Repair split intake boots or disconnected PCV/vacuum hoses.
  • Clean a contaminated MAF with MAF-safe cleaner or replace a failed sensor.
  • Clear the code and verify fuel trims after repair.
