The center console was part of the Mustang's personalization appeal and could be installed in cars with different drivetrains and interior packages. Correct versions must match the shifter, air-conditioning arrangement, trim color, and production details.

Factory and dealer offering
The price list gives separate prices for the ordinary console and the version used with air conditioning. The full-width front seat could not be combined with a console.
