- Modern 17-character VINs repeat model-year letters every 30 years; S197/S550/S650-looking VINs are interpreted in the modern cycle.
- This tool decodes the VIN, not warranty/data-plate trim codes. Paint, axle, transmission, DSO, and interior decoding will be added as separate data-plate support.
