Carburetor & Choke Driveability
Carbureted Mustangs can stumble, stall, or run rich from choke adjustment, vacuum leaks, clogged jets, or ignition timing issues.
- Inspect vacuum hoses, carburetor base gasket, and intake gasket areas for leaks.
- Verify choke pull-off and fast-idle operation from a cold start.
- Check fuel filter, accelerator-pump shot, and ignition timing before carburetor replacement.
