Inspection Checklist

Body, Electronics, And Recalls

Run recall checks by VIN, with special attention to rear camera, brake/seat-belt, and equipment-specific campaigns in NHTSA records.
Test rear camera, SYNC, drive modes, active exhaust, MagneRide status, digital cluster, MyKey/admin keys, and performance menus.
Track-used cars need splitter, belly pan, brake cooling, caliper paint, rotors, tires, wheels, underbody scrapes, cooler lines, and alignment records inspected.

Powertrain

10R80 automatics need cold engagement, reverse, harsh 3-4/4-5/7-8 shifts, clunks, flare, coastdown, paddle behavior, and service/adaptive-reset history checked.
2018-up manuals need MT-82-D4 high-rpm shift checks, clutch behavior, reverse, and shift-fork/aftermarket shifter history reviewed.
2018-up Coyote cars need tune, header, intake, emissions readiness, misfire scan, oil/tick context, and direct/port-injection service history checked.

Special Models

2019-2020 Bullitt should be Dark Highland Green or Shadow Black, six-speed manual, debadged black grille with chrome surround, round rear emblem, cue-ball shifter, unique wheels, green stitching, and 480-hp intake-related documentation.
2020-2022 GT500 should show 5.2L supercharged Predator, Tremec seven-speed DCT, GT500 body/cooling/brakes/aero, optional carbon package parts, and Shelby documentation.
2021-2023 Mach 1 should show VIN/window sticker, Tremec manual or optional 10R80, front splitter/rear diffuser/aero, engine oil cooler, rear axle cooling where equipped, and Handling Package content if claimed.

Photo Clues

Mach 1 Handling Package photos should show wheels, aero, splitter, rear spoiler, tires, and interior/shift clues; missing pieces affect value.

GT500 photos should include DCT shifter/interior, engine bay, brakes, front cooling openings, splitter/aero, and carbon wheel/aero condition where optioned.

MagneRide or Performance Pack claims should be checked with wheel/brake/gauge/suspension photos and window sticker.

VIN, Tag & Option Mismatch Checks

Bullitt, Mach 1, PP2, GT350, and GT500 visual pieces are expensive but still cloneable; VIN/window sticker/Shelby or Ford Performance documentation carries the value.

A 10R80 car that only got a low-speed test drive can hide partial-throttle or highway shift problems.

Known Buyer Risks

10R80 shift quality, MT-82-D4 behavior, rear camera recalls, MagneRide lowering quality, and track-use consumables are the recurring buyer checks.
GT500 DCT and carbon/track-package equipment should be inspected as high-cost components, not accessories.

Color & Interior Database

Use paint/interior codes as a screening tool, then verify individual cars from door labels, window stickers, Marti reports where available, SVT/Shelby/registry records, or Ford build data.
