Phone as a Key can lock, unlock, start, drive, remote start, and recall memory settings, but it depends on phone battery, Bluetooth, app state, vehicle battery, and radio conditions.

Set the Backup Start Passcode immediately after Phone as a Key setup. If the vehicle asks for it, enter the passcode on the touchscreen, then press the brake and ignition button within the allowed time.

The keyless entry keypad is near the driver window. Save a personal code, keep the factory wallet-card code with your records, and remember that the keypad does not work if the vehicle battery has no charge.

If the 12-volt battery is dead and the doors are locked, Ford's procedure uses an external 12-volt jump box at the front bumper access leads to pop the front luggage compartment so the 12-volt battery can be reached.

The front luggage compartment can be opened from the touchscreen, keypad, Phone as a Key, or the release handle, and the divided front compartment has an interior glow-in-the-dark emergency release.

Charging schedules and departure times are location-based. Set preferred charge windows and departure times so the car can use cheaper electricity and precondition while plugged in.

One Pedal Drive is a selectable driving aid, not a brake substitute. Practice with it on and off so low-speed parking and stop-and-go traffic feel predictable.

Run Ford and NHTSA VIN recall checks for every 2021-2026 Mach-E. Recall status is VIN-specific; Ford campaign 25S65 covered the electronic door-latch behavior on certain 2021-2025 vehicles, not the entire family or every model year.

Verify FordPass ownership transfer, prior Phone as a Key removal, fobs, keypad code access, and Backup Start Passcode reset/setup.

Ask about 12-volt battery replacement, low-voltage warnings, no-access/no-start history, and whether the front emergency access procedure has been used.

Test AC charging and, if practical, a DC fast-charge session; inspect the charge port, included mobile charger, adapter status, and charging schedule behavior.

Check tire brand/spec, tread depth, uneven wear, brake condition, sealant-kit expiration, and signs that tire sealant has already been used.

Review software version/update history, BlueCruise or connected-service subscription status if equipped, camera operation, driver-assistance warnings, and infotainment reset from prior owner data.

Judge range estimates cautiously. Compare service records, warranty status, charging behavior, battery-related warnings, and dealer inspection data rather than relying only on one displayed range number.
